Clipping jobs: what the work is, how it pays, and what’s open today.
Most listings called clipping jobs aren’t jobs. Nobody hires you and nobody pays you by the hour. A brand funds a campaign, you cut its footage into short clips, post them on your own accounts, and get paid for verified views until the budget runs out. Clipping.Zone is a marketplace for exactly that, and it is in an invited pilot: public transactions aren’t open yet, and the campaign board can be empty. This page is what you’d want to know before you clip for anyone, us included.
- Per-view campaigns. A brand posts a rate per 1,000 views and a budget. Anyone who meets the brief can post and submit; pay depends on how many verified views your clips get. No interview, no wage, no guaranteed income. This is the only kind Clipping.Zone runs.
- Freelance clip editing. A streamer, podcaster, or brand pays you per clip, per hour, or on a retainer to cut highlights — often without you posting anything. The rate is whatever you agree with the client, and views don’t change it.
- Salaried roles. Media companies and agencies hire editors and reviewers as ordinary employees. These show up on regular job boards.
If you need a predictable paycheck, the second and third are the right search. If you’d rather be paid for reach, and can live with months where nothing pays, the first is what the rest of this page covers.
- Every campaign shows its rate per 1,000 verified views, its budget cap, the platforms it accepts, and the brief before you start. The posted rate is what you earn, in full; the platform fee is charged to the brand on top, not taken out of your rate.
- A verified clip earns floor(views × rate ÷ 1,000). At a rate of $1.80 per 1,000 (the example in our terms, not a live campaign), a clip verified at 100,000 views earns $180.
- A brand can also set a minimum views to qualify (below it, a clip earns nothing; at or above it, every view counts) and a maximum payout per clip. Both are shown on the campaign page.
- The budget cap is a hard ceiling. When it can’t cover every clip, clips verified earlier are paid first, and once the cap is claimed, further views add nothing. A late clip on a nearly spent campaign can earn little or nothing, however well it does.
- Cash-outs start at a $20 available balance and go out through Stripe: a transfer to your connected Stripe Express account, or a Stripe payment link to your email.
You post from accounts you control, on the platforms the campaign lists. There is no follower minimum — views are the only thing that pays. You work as an independent: not an employee of Clipping.Zone or of the brand, and the platforms’ own rules and ad-disclosure laws still apply to what you post. Your edit is yours; the brand’s source footage stays the brand’s.
During the pilot, verification is done by a person — the brand or the marketplace operator — not a bot. You submit the link to your own public post; a reviewer checks it against the brief, usually within a day. Only verified clips earn. A rejection always comes with a reason, and the fix is a fresh post under a new link. Views found to be bought or botted don’t count. Keep the post public while it tracks; a clip that goes private stops earning.
A brand sets the rate and the budget cap and pays a 10% platform fee on top of that budget. The minimum campaign budget is $500. Funding goes through Stripe Checkout, and a campaign appears on the board only once it’s funded, so a campaign you can see is one with money behind it. Budget left unused when a campaign ends is platform revenue, not refunded. Brands looking for clippers start at launch a campaign.
- Public transactions are closed. Clipping.Zone is running an invited pilot. Public brand checkout and clipper cash-out transfers aren’t open yet.
- The campaign board can be empty. Right now there may be no funded campaign to clip for, and there is no guaranteed work — here or on any per-view marketplace.
- The clipper waitlist is open. It’s how you hear when campaigns fund.
- The budget is funded and shown, not promised.
- The rate per 1,000 views, any minimum views, and any per-clip cap are written down before you post.
- You know who verifies clips, roughly how fast, and what gets one rejected.
- The cash-out minimum and payout method are stated.
- You never pay to join. Money should flow to the clipper, not from them.
